Guidelines
for applications
Your
application must be for a project which falls within our AIMS,
that is to resource imaginative, non-violent activities by women
for the benefit of women and to further world peace with justice
and environmental safety (see also Aims).
We are unable to consider applications for projects that do
not fall within these areas.
We receive more applications fitting our aims than we have money
to fund. We are hoping for imaginative, politically expressive
projects.
We
have chosen the following CRITERIA to help us decide between
applications:
small groups and individual women are given priority
over larger established groups and organisations.
independent women and women's groups are given precedence
over women's initiatives within groups of women and men.
specific on-off projects and projects not yet started
are preferred to supporting projects already started or completed.
we particularly welcome applications from women who do
not have other sources of money.
Please
describe clearly the activity you would like the Maypole Fund
to support. Show how it fits in with Maypole's AIMS, and say
how the CRITERIA listed apply to you or your group.
State clearly the total amount you need. Our maximum grant is
£750. Give a breakdown of the costs, if you can, e.g.
Book
shelves £
20 books £
Index cards £
It
would also be helpful if you clearly set out the following:
name of contact person
address for correspondence
contact telephone number, if possible
if you are awarded a grant, to whom should a cheque be
made payable?
name of the group, if a group is involved.
are its members women only or women and men?
what does the group exist to do?
To
help us would you please tell us how you heard of the Maypole
Fund.
Much
as we would wish to support all worthwhile women's projects,
our funds and constitution do not permit this. We do not make
contributions to general funding nor do we give grants for individual
women living in the West to attend courses or to travel for
personal interest. We can support women's refuges and survivor
support groups only where they submit a specific project that
clearly aims to counter male violence.
We
are unable to relpy to any UK applications without a stamped
addressed envelope.
